Do you love Italian Fruit Crostata Recipe? As for me, I do actually! 🙂 I had lots of jam right in my kitchen. So, I tried to figure out what I will do with some of them and what popped into my head was Crostata (Tart) so, I decided to use it to make the Tart.
So, I never get rest until I prepare that thing that comes to my mind, and now is the crostata recipe. And swapping some of the flour I had and mixing it with some eggs, margarine, etc.

And I rolled out some of the dough for the base and place it on my pan and pop in my Jam into that base. The next thing I did was roll out some dough and make a lot of strips for the top and baked it.

When I brought it out from the oven and guess what happened? My kids were like WOW! YUMMY! YUMMY!! You can imagine the taste? This Crostata (Tart) Recipe has it all: it is easy to prepare.
Making the Italian Fruit Crostata Recipe
This will serve 10-12 persons
Actually, this should work with any kind of jam. If you have apricot or raspberry it’s okay to use any jam of your choice.
Ingredients for the Italian Fruit Crostata Recipe
- 500 g of flour
- 200 g of sugar
- 250 g of butter
- 60g of egg
- 40g of egg yolk
- 5 g of baking powder
- 1 sachet of vanilla
- 1/2 lemon juice
- pinch of salt
- 400g of apricot

The Preparation of the Italian Fruit Crostata Recipe
1. Beat together butter and sugar until well corporated. add in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
2. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Then gradually add the dry ingredients, just until the mixture just mixed together.
3. Then is time to wrap them in a plastic cling, and chill it for about an hour.
4. Now remove the dough from the refrigerator and allow it to room temperature slightly. Now it’s time to roll out the base of the crostata and place it on your pan after you have greased the pan. Use your hand to press the dough into the bottom and sides of the pan.
5. Spread the jam evenly over the dough.
6. Now roll out some dough and cut out some stripes of them, then lay them over the jam.
7. Bake until the pastry is golden brown. Let it cool before serving, and it is at room temperature.
This looks so good. I tried making a version of this but I used apples and Bubbies sauerkraut, it was actually delicious!
