How to Preserve Ice Fish with Dehydrating Machine

Hi! Today, I will share how to preserve ice fish during the 2020 lockdown. We all know how things were. I couldn’t buy everything I needed because of the lockdown.

You cannot find some things in the supermarket, either. Food items were incredibly scarce. It was hard for me to buy dry fish to make soup.

I thought about how I would make it myself, but I don’t know how long this lockdown will last. My small freezer can’t contain all that we need during that period, so I have to draft a method.

This is preserving my ice fish with only two things, and that is;

WHAT YOU NEED TO PRESERVE YOUR ICE FISH

  1. Dehydrating machine
  2. Oil

THE STEPS THAT I TOOK

So, I bought and washed my ice fish. Next, I put it in my dehydrating machine and left it there for about two to three days to dry well.

So, the next thing I did was turn off the dehydrating machine and bring out the dried fish when it was ready (very dried).

The first day I did it, I just dehydrated it and left it like that, but guess🤔 what happened? Do you know that after some days (a few days) that I dried the dried fish, it began to grow mucus?

I had to change my plans. This time, I dried the fish. Next, I used my brush to rub vegetable oil throughout the dried fish because oil is one of the best natural preservatives we have! Right?

That’s how I did it and am still doing it today.

I hope this helps. Thank you for reading this post. If you enjoyed it, consider sharing it. I would appreciate it.
