  • ¼ teaspoon white wine Vinegar

  • ½ teaspoon salt plus more to taste
  • ¾ cup of Canola oil divided

Preparation for this homemade mayonnaise recipe

1. Combine egg yolk, lemon juice, vinegar, mustard, and salt in a medium bowl. Whisk for about 30 seconds until it blends and turns to bright yellow colour.

2. Using ¼ teaspoon measurement of Canola oil and whisking it constantly, add a ¼ cup of oil to the yolk mixture, remember a few drops at a time, and do it for about 4 minutes.

3. Gradually add the remaining ½ cup of oil slowly, constantly whisking, until the mayonnaise is thick, but remember you can do this for about 8 minutes (your mayonnaise will be lighter in colour).

4. Then, cover and chill it.
